About This Blog

Dawn Mentzer - Author of From Pick to PanI’m known to be a  little bit of a health food freak. And I have become rather masterful at tossing veggies, fruits, grains, meats, beans, and seasonings together to make some memorably delish (and profusely simple) stir-fry combos and salads. With whole foods as the focal point of my concoctions, I’m always looking for the best values and tastes in produce.  I’m a huge fan of the Produce Geek’s insights and advice – and much of what I prepare for this blog is based on what I’ve cooked up using what he recommends.

Please DO try this at home!

And when you do, consider keeping these ingredient staples on hand because they’ll make repeat appearances: olive oil (high quality makes a difference), peanut oil, raw apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, chives, basil, dill weed, sea salt, black pepper, Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or soy sauce, fresh garlic, cayenne pepper, raw sugar, raw honey, natural peanut butter, paprika, split peas, red kidney beans, lentils, black beans, pinto beans, chicken, brown and basmati rice, quinoa, whole grain or gluten-free pasta.
